Solomon Islands and the United States have signed an agreement that will bring the Peace Corps back to the Pacific nation. The programme had been suspended since the early 2000s, when ethnic tensions made it impossible to keep volunteers in the country. With the deal now signed, American volunteers can once again take up postings there.
