Morocco’s Justice Minister Abdellatif Ouahbi said Tuesday that new conditions for enforcing physical coercion under the new Criminal Procedure Code No. 03.23 have led to the cancellation of 22,315 search notices and the release of 3,991 detainees, according to the latest available data. He spoke during the general session for oral questions in the House of Councillors. Ouahbi noted that the new Criminal Procedure Code has entered into force. The change is described as ending imprisonment over 80 dirhams.
