Azerbaijan plans to join Mecca Convention on combating corruption
Azerbaijan intends to join the Mecca Convention to help combat corruption. This was announced by Aliyev during a high-level meeting in Baku. The event brought together heads of anti-corruption law enforcement agencies from member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Aliyev stated that Azerbaijan has already ratified several international conventions. These existing agreements target both organized crime and corruption.
Speaking on Wednesday at the third high-level meeting of heads of anti-corruption law enforcement agencies from member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Baku, Aliyev said Azerbaijan had already ratified several major international conventions aimed at fighting corruption and organized crime.
