The Veles operation has closed a hidden route used by Russians toward Kupyansk, according to Tregubov. After the operation, Ukraine's armed forces recorded no new effective attempts by Russian units to enter the city. Small groups of Russian troops that had earlier established a presence remain in the northern part of Kupyansk.
