The Danube River became unusually wide as it flowed around Belgrade, creating many islands and occasionally flooding the land. In the 19th century, the river destroyed an entire settlement. Settlers had underestimated the power of the water. The village was completely erased from the map.
U svom vijuganju oko Beograda Dunav postaje neobično širok, stvarajući u svom toku brojna ostrva, a neretko i plaveći sve pred sobom.Tako je moćnoj reci, koju su naivni doseljenici potcenili, u 19. veku pošlo za rukom da zbriše čitavo jedno naselje. Doslovno zbriše, sa mape.
