Smoke haze unlikely to hit Singapore on Thursday; showers could help with haze situation on Friday, Saturday

Thinking of participating in outdoor activities on Thursday (Oct 29) but unsure of the haze situation? Here's some good news.According to the National Environment Agency (NEA), showers are expected over Sumatra, Singapore and the surrounding region on Thursday. This should help to keep the regional haze situation suppressed, NEA said in its daily haze situation update on Wednesday evening. And while drier conditions may return over parts of Kalimantan, smoke haze from the area is unlikely to drift towards Singapore due to favourable winds, NEA added. The 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) forecast for Thursday is between 60 and 90 — in the moderate band.
