Abdelilah Benkirane, secretary general of the Justice and Development Party, apologized to residents of Ouezzane after a slip of the tongue. He had linked the city to hosting a conference on legalizing cannabis, but it later turned out that the meeting was held in a different city. Benkirane explained that he made the remark during a weekly meeting of his party’s parliamentary team in the House of Representatives.
