The Rom Council has submitted a proposal seeking a dedicated parliamentary seat for the Romani community in Montenegro’s parliament. The request was addressed to President Milatović, the parliamentary speaker, the prime minister, and all parliamentary groups. The proposal asks for a mandate with an electoral threshold of 0.35 percent. It represents a community of roughly 5,600 residents. The council argues that the community currently lacks direct representation in the legislature. The initiative aims to secure formal political voice for the Romani population.
