Full story
Audio recordings from the control tower of the Spanish train collision have become public. In the recordings a driver for the Iryo service says she cannot restart the LZB signalling system used by high‑speed trains. A controller responds by ordering the AVE driver to continue the journey at "normal speed". The exchange occurs moments before the two trains collide. The audio captures the frustration of the train crew as they deal with technical failure. Authorities are reviewing the recordings as part of the investigation.
