The European Union Ambassador to Timor-Leste, Thorsten Bargfried, stated that the EU is preparing an observation mission for the presidential elections. These elections are expected to take place in March 2027. Bargfried visited the country with a group of experts from Europe. This visit follows an invitation to observe the electoral process.
