Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced a major modernization of the Eastern railway line. The project involves rehabilitating the infrastructure and superstructure of the existing line from Divriği to the Kars border. Work will also include electrification and signalization efforts.
