Minister Baasaron adviseert vernietiging omstreden rijst
Minister Andrew Baasaron of Economic Affairs, Entrepreneurship and Technological Innovation suggests destroying illegally imported rice stored in Nickerie. He warns that the rice may have come into contact with urea fertilizer. These two items were transported together on the same ship. The Public Ministry will make the final decision regarding the disposal of the goods. Baasaron stated that using the rice as animal feed is only an option under specific conditions.
