The city council of Rijeka voted to approve a second budget rebalance proposed by Mayor Iva Rinčić. The proposal passed with seventeen councilors supporting it and twelve opposing. Members of the governing coalition, which includes the majority faction that backs the mayor, voted in favor of the rebalance. The revised budget allocates a return of several million euros to a recycling sorting facility. It also creates new earmarked funds for a project referred to as “Galeb.” The announcement that the rebalance had been adopted was first reported by the newspaper Novi list. The council’s decision marks a continuation of the mayor’s fiscal adjustments for the municipality.
