Police recovered the missing teacher Nancy Godoy’s mobile phone near the location where her body was found, about two and a half kilometres from the school where she taught. The area where the phone and body were located was described as water‑logged and overgrown with vegetation. On Wednesday, while the corpse was being lifted out by helicopter, a forensic doctor reported injuries on the victim’s arms and hands that could be consistent with defensive wounds. The discovery of the phone places it within the same vicinity as the corpse. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death.
