Puente has rejected calls to resign following the Urda accident. Political groups including Sumar, ERC, and Podemos have demanded he provide explanations in a parliamentary setting. Pressure for his resignation is also coming from railway unions. His inner circle currently rules out the possibility of him stepping down. He has requested to appear before the Permanent Deputation of the Congress.
