Juez de Ecuador absuelve a ocho tripulantes de un barco atacado por EE.UU. en el Pacífico
A court in Ecuador acquitted eight crew members of the vessel Don Rufó. The men had been charged with drug trafficking but the prosecution presented no evidence. The presiding judge criticized the prosecutor for initiating the case without sufficient proof. The Don Rufó had been sunk by United States military forces. At the time of the sinking, the accused sailors were not on board. They were later located by the Ecuadorian navy a few days after the incident. The judgment cleared the men of all allegations.
