Pohankova schakelt Osaka uit in Tokio

Eighteen-year-old Mia Pohankova caused a surprise at the tennis tournament in Tokyo on October 29. The Slovakian player defeated home favorite Naomi Osaka with scores of 6-3 and 7-5. This victory allowed Pohankova to advance to the quarterfinals of the Pan Pacific Open. She entered the competition using a wildcard. Osaka has previously won four grand slam tournaments.
