Former Salvadoran president Elias Antonio Saca has been released after serving a 10-year sentence for corruption. He confessed to diverting more than $300 million in public funds while he held the presidency. Saca accepted a plea bargain in the case rather than fighting the charges. The decade-long sentence has now run its course, and he is out of custody.
