A 73‑year‑old German paragliding enthusiast completed what would become his final flight. During his landing in the Austrian town of Pruggern, his paraglider became entangled in the wires of a high‑voltage power line. The incident left him hanging from the line while the surrounding area lost electrical service. Emergency crews had to cut power to the entire district in order to reach and free him safely. The rescue operation required coordination between local authorities and utility workers. The experience is expected to remain a vivid memory for the older adrenaline seeker.
