Lambayeque: más de 5 000 tomos de documentos notariales esperan ser trasladados al Archivo Regional
Over 5,000 volumes of notarial documents are waiting to be moved to the Regional Archive in Lambayeque. Jaime Cárdenas, the dean of the College of Notaries, warned that the state entity lacks the budget and infrastructure for this. The documents date back to 1933. Due to a lack of interest from the Regional Government, the institution used part of its auditorium to store the records. These include invaluable deeds related to José Abelardo Quiñones.
El decano del Colegio de Notarios de Lambayeque, Jaime Cárdenas, advirtió que la entidad estatal no cuenta con presupuesto ni infraestructura para recibir el acervo documentario que data desde 1933. Señalan que ante el desinterés del Gobierno Regional, la institución se ha visto obligada a ceder parte de su auditorio para resguardar escrituras invaluables, entre ellas las vinculadas al héroe José Abelardo Quiñones.
