State Duma deputy Svetlana Zhurova said Russia’s national team is unlikely to play at the 2027 World Championship. Her comment came despite a Court of Arbitration for Sport decision that ordered the International Ice Hockey Federation to admit the team to international competitions. Zhurova argued that the tournament bracket has already been formed. She said dropping other countries would be disrespectful, and that Russia would be outraged if such a thing happened to it.
