President Cyril Ramaphosa has authorized the deployment of 510 SANDF members to KwaZulu-Natal. These forces will be active from 9 October until 30 November 2026. Their primary role is to provide support to the police. This deployment is a response to planned marches. There are also concerns regarding possible unrest in the region.
