The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission stated that all foreign applicants were disqualified from the CEO recruitment process. There were 304 candidates on the initial list. Foreign nationals were removed during the preliminary stage. This action was taken because they did not meet Kenyan citizenship requirements.
