Political tension has risen in Poland following a conflict within the Constitutional Tribunal. The crisis began on Friday afternoon when judge Anna Korwin-Piotrowska claimed leadership of the court. She ordered the suspension of president Bogdan Święczkowski. The vice president, Bartłomiej Sochański, was also suspended by the judge.
