The case regarding the May 16 attack remains under the jurisdiction of the Bologna Prosecutor's Office. A prosecutor excluded the aggravating factor of terrorism from the case. The lawyer for the victim's brother, De Cicco, described these motivations as unfounded. De Cicco also criticized the prosecutor for her political affiliations.
