The ballot for the United States midterm elections on 3 November will not list Donald Trump’s name. This follows Trump’s encouragement for supporters to imagine otherwise. Voters will decide the composition of the House of Representatives. Approximately one‑third of the Senate seats will also be contested. The elections will therefore shape the federal legislature for the coming term.
