The U.S. Department of Justice filed an appeal on Saturday against a temporary order issued by federal judge Trina Thompson. This court order prevents the administration of President Donald Trump from threatening election officials with criminal prosecution. It also stops the administration from requiring these officials to separate ballots. According to reports, the appeal was submitted to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
