Fruit prices have risen unusually, with traders acting arbitrarily in the market, according to a report. The president of the Nepal Fruit Wholesale Business Association, Amar Baniya, said retail traders are supposed to keep a margin of only 20 to 25 percent. But because the rule is not followed, fruits have become much more expensive at the retail level.
