Iliana Jotova, who is currently serving as Bulgaria’s acting president, is ahead in the runoff for the country’s presidential race. According to two exit polls released after polls closed at 20:00 local time, she holds about 51 percent of the vote. Her main challenger is former interim prime minister Andrey Gurov. The polls show Gurov receiving between 43 and 45 percent of the ballots. The figures were published shortly after voting stations shut down earlier in the evening. The data suggests a clear lead for Jotova as the second round approaches.
