FGM calls for judicial inquiry into death of police detainee

The Forward Guyana Movement has requested a change in how the death of a police detainee is handled. The individual died while in custody at the Vreed-en-Hoop police station. The opposition group believes the police force should stop investigating the incident. Instead, they recommend an investigation led by a coroner. This official would have the power of a magistrate to oversee the case.
