Scientists have found that people with aphantasia, who cannot deliberately picture faces or objects while awake, can still form full visual and sound images during sleep. ScienceAlert reports that almost half of people with aphantasia see vivid dreams, and that the inability to visualize consciously by day does not stop the brain from producing such imagery at night.
