The presence of fireflies in Bukit Kiara Federal Park acts as an indicator of the local environment. Harleen Rai Kaur, who coordinates the firefly night trail program, explains that finding these insects is a positive sign. It suggests the forest remains healthy. Such a state allows the area to continue supporting life.
“Kehadiran kelip-kelip boleh menjadi petunjuk kepada keadaan persekitaran. Jika kita masih dapat menemukannya, itu petanda baik bahawa hutan Bukit Kiara masih sihat dan mampu menyokong kehidupan,” jelas penyelaras program jejak malam kelip-kelip di Taman Persekutuan Bukit Kiara, Harleen Rai Kaur.
