Guinea opened its first gold refinery, named Nimba Gold Refinery, in the capital city of Conakry. The facility is located in Gbessia and is part of a strategy to process mineral resources locally. This opening follows the recent launch of a similar refinery in Burkina Faso. The inauguration ceremony was led by the head of the country.
