The municipal council decided to rename Akarsu Yokuşu Sokak in the Beyoğlu district of Istanbul. This street is now called Orhan Kemal Sokak. The change honors the writer Orhan Kemal. The street is already home to a museum dedicated to the author.
İstanbul'un Beyoğlu ilçesinde Orhan Kemal Müzesi'nin bulunduğu Akarsu Yokuşu Sokak'ın adı, belediye meclisinde alınan kararla "Orhan Kemal Sokak" olarak değiştirildi
