The central government's gross public debt finished the third quarter at 44.7 % of gross domestic product. This figure is 1.7 percentage points higher than the estimate reported for the April‑June period. A larger portion of the debt is now denominated in foreign currency. As a result, the debt becomes more exposed to exchange‑rate fluctuations.
