The Paris City Council returned the ashes of Guatemalan writer Miguel Ángel Asturias to his family on November 3. The author won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1967 and was a precursor to magical realism. His remains stayed in the French capital for 52 years before this repatriation ceremony.
