U.S. astronauts aboard the International Space Station took part in the midterm elections by casting their ballots from orbit. The votes were transmitted through a special encrypted system designed for space missions. Officials said the process ensured the votes remained confidential and tamper‑free. This marks the first time astronauts have voted while in orbit. The agency coordinated with election authorities to meet all legal requirements. The successful transmission demonstrated that even remote locations can participate in national elections.
