A conflict has emerged between Prime Minister Edi Rama and Mayor Erion Veliaj. This tension became public following the transfer of Veliaj to the Fier prison. The dispute extends beyond the administration of the Municipality of Tirana. Requests have been made for the SPAK to conduct an independent investigation into the claims. Veliaj has communicated through his lawyer, Plarent Nreca.
