The largest union for the PSP has criticized the government for how police actions were used during housing protests. The ASPP/PSP claims that forced actions in recent episodes show limits on police freedom. They describe the political interference and haste as unacceptable. The union believes these actions compromise the institution and its professional staff.
ASPP/PSP considera que "a atuação forçada nos recentes episódios revela limitações à liberdade de ação da polícia, além de uma precipitação e intromissão política inaceitáveis, que comprometem a instituição e os seus profissionais".
