Five men face charges for their involvement in an auto theft and fraud ring in Alberta. The investigation revealed a scheme involving decommissioned RCMP vehicles. These vehicles were supposed to be destroyed. Instead, the individuals resold them within Canada. Some of the vehicles were exported out of the country.
Several cases grew out of the initial investigation, including one involving decommissioned RCMP vehicles slated to be destroyed that instead were resold within Canada or exported.
