Janette MacAusland, 49, appeared in court and pleaded not guilty to charges of murdering her two young children. The children were a seven-year-old son named Kai and a six-year-old daughter named Ella. The deaths occurred at a New England home valued at $1.5 million. The mother, who works as an acupuncturist, was visibly emotional and sobbed during the proceedings. A grand jury charged her with two counts of first-degree murder last month. The crimes allegedly took place while she was undergoing a difficult divorce.
