The Albertina Modern and the Wien Museum have agreed to work together on two separate exhibitions. Both shows will focus on the life and oeuvre of Franz West, the celebrated Viennese artist known for his unconventional work. The programme aims to present West as both a person and a creator, offering a comprehensive view of his career. Archival material, sculptures, installations and personal objects will be displayed across the two venues. Curators plan to trace the evolution of his practice from early experiments to later large‑scale productions. The collaboration marks the most extensive tribute to West ever mounted in Austria. If he were alive, West would have turned 80 in early 2027.
