Full story
Traffic fines in the province of Buenos Aires have risen sharply over the past year. The unit used to calculate penalties, known as the Fixed Unit (UF), increased from 2,281 to 2,340 Argentine pesos. The adjustment took effect sometime after November. Authorities report that the change translates to an overall increase of nearly thirty percent in the cost of violations. Drivers now face higher charges for the same infractions. The provincial administration attributes the rise to recent fiscal policies.
