Morocco stopped tomato exports to African markets on Thursday, according to Hussein Adardour, head of the interprofessional federation for fruit and vegetable production and export, and a government source cited by Reuters. The step is meant to secure supplies for the national market and limit price increases. Tomato prices in Moroccan markets have risen because of lower production in the Souss-Massa region.
