A three-year-old boy named Son was admitted with a high fever of 40 degrees Celsius. He has a medical history of being born prematurely. The child suffered from severe pneumonia. This condition was caused by a co-infection of four different agents. These included respiratory syncytial virus and pneumococcus. Two other types of bacteria were also present in the infection.
