Politicians gathered at various IEC results operations centres across South Africa to monitor the count for the 2026 local government elections. The event took place away from official podiums and announcements. Photographs from the centres show the individuals in candid moments. These images capture politicians engaging in conversation and laughter. The photos also show a sense of anticipation as they waited for results.
