Groups of descendants of immigrants in France are challenging ideas of peace. Some view these individuals as representatives of the poor and marginalized. During anti-government unrest, they have broken shop windows to take items they believe they deserve. These individuals often wear black sweatshirts and sweatpants with their faces masked. They are capable of playing multiple roles in the unrest.
