Zambia's railway connection to Angola's Port of Lobito has moved closer to securing financing. The planned line runs 830 kilometers and is tracked to reach financial close in 2027. Progress came after President Hichilema held a high-level meeting with leaders of the Africa Finance Corporation. The high-level talks with the AFC came ahead of this step toward financing. Once the close is achieved, the railway would link Zambia by rail directly to the port at Lobito.
