In a memorial piece marking the 17th anniversary of Al-Ansari’s death, the writer recalls leaving his hometown Tinejdad with a small bag for Meknes. He says he did not expect a journey beyond the usual bus travel between cities. Behind the university walls, he writes, was a man who led him to worlds he had not known, opened windows in his soul, and after his departure left him searching for him.
