Pope Leo XIV began his trip to Latin America with a visit to Uruguay. He was welcomed by President Yamandú Orsi. The Pope gave his first speech for the region at Plaza la Independencia in central Montevideo. After spending three days in Uruguay, the pontiff will travel to Argentina and Peru.
